Prof. Dr. Marc Debus

Dr. Marc Debus (*1978 in Biedenkopf/Lahn) has been Professor of Political Science with the focus on comparative government at Mannheim University since October 2012 and director of the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) since February 2017. Prior to moving to Mannheim University he was Professor of Government in Germany and the EU at Oldenburg University. From 1999 to 2003 he studied political science, sociology, empirical social research methods and modern history/economic and social history at the universities of Marburg and Mannheim and obtained his doctorate at Constance University in 2006. His research interests lie in the analysis of voting behaviour, competition between parties, internal party conflicts and parliamentary actions and decisions in modern democracies.
